Schuylkill Valley Metro
The Schuylkill Valley Metro is a project that addresses the issues of development and growth along the Route 422 corridor along the Schuylkill River between Philadelphia, Norristown, and Reading. This part of the Philadelphia metropolitan region has seen rapid growth in the past few decades in residences, employers, and automobile traffic — along with the increased air and noise pollution, congested roadways, and quality-of-life issues that go along with growth.

A rail line that serves communities along this corridor will revitalize the old towns and cities along the Schuylkill River, encourage Smart Growth and development patterns that preserve open space, and reduce traffic, air pollution, and noise pollution related to automobile use.
